Andro Corp 16" rifle $399 (Primary Arms 4th sale) PSA Dagger slide RMR cut, threaded barrel $199 PSA Dagger compact frame $49 Primary Arms 3x micro prism $235 (mil discount price) Primary Arms Classic RMR footprint red dot $112 (mil discount price) $994 I've got about 2k through the Dagger, 250 through the Andro (half with the 3x micro prism). If be comfortable using it to repel pissed off seal team commanders. What do you have under 1k that you'd use for a social situation?

What do you have under 1k that you'd use for a social situation? Truth be told, I don't. All of my rigs have surpassed that pricetag nowadays. I'm not saying it cannot be done for under $1k, that's just not where I'm at anymore. Not for a full combo anyway. This will probably come off as elitist, but it is not meant to be as such. What's funny to me is, I'm still running a cheapass UV82-HP. Granted, it's keyed into a pair of Peltors, but still...

Won all three of mine at rifle matches
Only invested bucks into hand guards, optics, trrigger groups
Well under 1K

Not much of a pistol shooter these days, but still have a glock 17 and a few ARs that I put together myself, that would maybe squeeze in somewhere around the 500 dollar mark.
For ultimate cheap-shìt SHTF survival, I could pick a Mossberg 500 with security and field barrels that I bought off a guy for a couple hundred bucks, and a No.4 Mk1* Enfield that I bought at a flea market for 250 bucks, and come in at 450 dollars.

Good choices, there should be plenty of .223/5,56x45 and 9mm Luger ammo around. That Dagger competes with current offering from Ruger called Ruger Security 9. I think Ruger pulled all tricks possible to make that as cheap to make as possible. They should have kept the 9E in production, but I guess profit margin was too low.🤷 Quintessential AR rifle with budget friendly category is S&W M&P 15. There are loads of cheap plastic framed pistols to choose from.

Surefire has a spot, but, no, is not my actual "go to" setup. It's my "spare that's elsewhere" setup I could throw Magpul mbus sights on it, but it's an etched reticle prism on a range toy, so why?

I gotcha. I use the streamlight rifle lights on the ones that aren't my first pick rifle. I've got some weird twitch that makes me put lights and BUIS on everything I can that isn't a bolt gun or .22lr lol.

I just shot it for the first time today, and only out to 100, but I really liked it. It's daylight bright and fast for up close, but easy to be precise with at longer range with the chevron. Not too finicky on the eye relief, and the diopter makes the reticle clear for people with astigmatism. I'm liking it more than the Aimpoint pro I initially had on it. I really like that, if the battery/electronics die, it's still a 3x scope with a usable reticle. It's also tiny and light. That rifle makes my 6920 with a 2-12 on it feel like a pig.

In case you're into AK's, the one Primary Arms optic I've got is a 1-6x24 with the ACSS reticle on my Arsenal SLR107 7.62x39 folder. I'm using the RSRegulate AK-303M lower mount with the AKR top mount. Thanks again for the info on the 3x prism. Been wanting to scratch the itch on one. Haven't bought anything in a while and I've got a dollar or two burning a hole in my pocket.
