So, now that this auction is finished I think I am ok to post? Hopefully. So, did anyone watch the serial #3 Savage 99 RMEF rifle auction on Gunboker? Rifle only, nothing else included...I personally haven't seen one in recent time go up for sale, so It was interestng to see what it got for end price...any thoughts on the rifle from the lucky ones that have/had one of these rare birds? Price at where it was expected? I thought it went a little lower than I expected, given that there were only 60 built, and based what I've seen other models go for in the last couple of years (PE's, Centennials). https://www.gunbroker.com/item/999805699

It was #3 out of 60 as stated. There was damage to the butt pad, damage to the forend wood at the counterbore for the screw, and damage to the rear sight from a screwdriver. None of the paperwork and no display case. The seller would only accept electronic payment. NOTHING mailed in. I was the #2 bidder and I let it go. If I buy I want the best. I thought it went for more than it should have and I was in it to the end. I bid and it went into the 15 minute rule which gave me 15 more minutes to really make up my mind. PE's and Centennials are not in the same class as far as I am concerned, but what the hell do I know. It just wasn't ment to be.
