That was a great article. Like that guy a lot. The truth is, Rapinoe is easily replaced. We have a large pool of great female soccer players here in the US.

In my time, if you played soccer you lost your lunch money on a regular basis. It's a girly sport...Only sports women should play are beach volleyball and tennis.. And the ONLy reasons soccer is gaining traction in this country is part of the plan to emasculate our young boys and of course the influx the great unwashed For a smart guy you're pretty dumb sometimes speaking this way. Simply because you don't get the world game doesn't make it or the billions of us around the planet girly. Lemme guess: American football right? Spend some time watching the men's rugby world cup and get back to me about American football. It's sad some of you don't get soccer; i.e. the REAL football or the passion it stirs in its fans. American football is intelligent and imaginative and violent and fast but it is missing flow which rugby offers and it is missing the beautiful artistry which football offers. Little man syndrome or what Jorge? Rather than dump on what you clearly do not understand how about letting the rest of us enjoy it minus your glib, unimaginative commentary. Who said anything about Rugby or for that matter Football? But I get it, short wearing soccer players and fans, in order to justify their sport, are compelled to throw in Rugby as a detractor. FWIW, Rugby IS a real man's game. Believe me I get it. Can;t tell you how many times I've been over and seen the passion for the game. Bottom line is it wasn't popular here until the aforementioned reasons.

Women's soccer peaked when Brandi Chastain yanked her shirt off after winning the '99 Women’s World Cup. Pretty much been down hill since. Though Hope Solo livened things up a lil.  When Hope's nude pics hit the web, I'm surprised Arby's didn't pick her up to market the roast beef.

I would be cool to witness how different , politically and socially some of these athletes would be if the professors at the institutions these athletes gained scholarships were more evenly distributed conservative vs. liberal ideology.
