I believe you have more 700's than you do Sako's. (I do too). Good looking group of rifles. Take care, Rick

I've had several 700's. An ADL in 270 back in the mid80's that I wish I had back. A 700 CDL in 7/08 that I should never have sold and I can't remember what else. All I have left now is my 700 Ti in 7 SAUM.
The lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part!

Looks like you may have a M7 in there too. Nice set of Classics too Yes, a 7mm-08, I need a new pic, the top and bottom rifles are gone. I’ve added a couple classics and a 700 C Grade. I’ll do that if it ever rains again.

Nice assortment of 700s there.
I've been a 700 fan all my life, but oddly enough, the only 700 currently in my safe is my daughter's stainless 7mm-08. I have other Remington bolt gun models, but many of my hunting rifles are now other brands that compete with Remington for that market space.
Now with even more aplomb

Nice collection Hanco. It also looks like you favor Leupold. I have quite a few of both. Many of the 700s have some custom stock or barrels.

My "large bore" at the time was a Cliff LaBounty rebore of a 30-06 Walmart ADL (1990 $300?) to 338-06 when they sold rifles in California. Its first outing was to Leadville Colorado with the 210 gr Partition. About 8 AM opening morning.
Conduct is the best proof of character.

No pics yet but I just purchased a new RemArms BDL. I think it's the best looking M700 from a fit and finish perspective that I've seen out of any Model 700 from any era. Pretty excited to shoot it. I have high expectations for it.

My one and only Remington 700. A .308Win Started life as a poor shooting LVSF. Rebarreled with a Douglas 10twist, bedded into a McMillan Edge, Triggertech Special, Talleys and a 3-9 Zeiss Conquest. Shoots 150g Hornady Interlocks into tiny little clusters and I haven't found a reason to switch projectiles yet.

Never owned one. The right one never came along. Plus I'm a lefty which makes the "right one window" pretty narrow.
Someone on here posted a pic of a lefty C grade in 25-06 that would definitely be a "right one".
Nice rifles fellas.

My first Rem 700, an ADL in 7mm RM on my first South African hunt... Same rifle for Musk ox in northern Northwest Territories... Traded it for a stainless BDL, also in 7mm RM, and used it in South Africa for this Black Wildebeast... Then it helped me put this picture in the 30th B&C Awards book... Last year I put it into a Weatherby Vanguard Griptonite stock... I put my stainless ADL .375 RUM in this laminated stock... That I used for this Cape Buffalo in Zimbabwe... And this Alaskan Grizzly...

not a 7mm fan but do have a Rem 700 in 7mm LRH (7mm Long Range Hunter) that ships out the 195 gr Berger bullet at 3300 fps slummed in a package with a McSwirly, Nightforce ATACR & a Bartlein, for a serious piece of accurate artillery

I literally bring nothing to table for this Pard ship.
Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.

While my meager collection pales by comparison to some of the beauties shown in this thread. I have acquired a couple interesting examples. First is a 700 MagPul in 260 Rem 22 inch barrel w/ 8 inch twist. Setup at the factory with the MagPul stock and mag. I switched it out to an Accurate binderless mag and added a Trigger tech at 2.5 lb. The scope is an FF II 3.5-14x42. As I have several rifles in the same chambering, the tape is coded to the ammo boxes. Burris EX Tact bases with signature rings. 700 5R in 260 Rem 24 in barrel with 8 inch twist and factory HS Precision stock. It originally had BDL bottom metal which I replaced with AICS and accurate binderless mag. Trigger Tech at 2.5 lb. 3.5-10 VX-3 CDS on Ex Tact bases and Signature rings. 700 ADL synthetic. originally in 243. I found the stock in the raw at my FFL and finished it. Then it got the BDL bottom metal from the 5R. And finally a SS 7mm-08 barrel purchased from the 'Fire. Trigger Tech at 2.5 lb. VX 2 3-9x40 in Ex Tact bases with Signature rings. Okay, now I am going to cheat a bit. 722 in 244 Rem. FF II 3.5-14x42 in Talley LW Purchased from the Campfire. Model 7 in 6mm-284Win with Trigger Tech at 2.5 lb. VX 2 3-9x40 in Talley LW. And finally a 788 in 6MM Rem with a Bushnell 4200 3-9x40 in whatever rings were on the rifle when we bought it.

I feel so .... inadequate. I only have 3 Remingtons. 2 700 ADL's and one .221 Fireball pistol. Those are some nice looking rifles. kwg

That one came out of the Sweden gun buyback amnesty what ever it’s called. Big crates of used guns brought back into Canada. Mostly Husqvarnas Sakos etc. But this Remington was in there. I don’t think it was fired. I refinished it because the finish was poor. Turned out nice. Lapua brass won’t work. Winchester does. Shoots 120 BT’s the best. It probably should be bedded to get to its potential.

1974 vintage Rem 700 BDL in 6mm Remington. I got it new, now mostly my youngest son hunts with it, nearly 50 years later. It's been great on varmints & mule deer. His first deer with it. Muley doe at nearly 300 yards via 95 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip. I put the rifle in a synthetic "youth" stock for him then. It moved back into the full size stock not long after this: Regards, Guy

Remington 700 CDL in 30-06 with a pillar bedded Remington stock, Timney trigger and a 6x Leupold scope, the 36mm version. 2016 was a particularly good year for this rifle. Washington Bear at about 325 yards: Wyoming 4x5 muley at about 140 yards: Pronghorn at about 240 yards, had an old 2-7x Redfield on it then: Washington cow elk at about 340 yards: All with the same 165 grain handload. Regards, Guy

This is the only 700 I have. Started as a Sportsman's Whorehouse Christmas sale ADL in .243 Win. Had my gunsmith buddy spin on a 8 twist 3 weight Shilen barrel and chamber it in 22-250. Dropped it in this McMillan I bought from Mr. Bin.

This is the first but not the last Remington I bought. It’s a 700 SS in 30-06. I bought it new in 1993 at a local bait and tackle shop which is long gone for $440. It’s been a good one.

Within a few years of buying mine, my dad bought a used one. A few years later my brother bought another used one and we still own them all. I’d like to have all the calibers, I believe they made 4. Somewhere dad has a Remington catalog with them in it, I also think they were only cataloged one year.

Back in mid 90s, 14yo, I popped a doe with my M7 243, great shot, she ran and dad wasn't having much of it. He picked me up Monday afterschool and had one of these ss/syn mountains for me, in 270, still have it and have killed a pile of deer with it. Now I've switched to a 708 but still take the 270 out on occasion. I was watching them go for 1250-1500 about a year ago.

I’ve heard about this “issue” yet I’ve never seen or experienced it myself and I’ve seen exponentially more 700’s (and others) than most people since I’ve been in the industry and around guns for most of my life in some capacity or another. With the various aspects of all mechanical creations like quality of raw materials to quality of the individual employee there are enough variables that “mistakes” happen and a small percentage of failures are normal, “acceptable” and to be expected. That is of no consolation when it’s your rifle that broke and you’re 300 miles into the middle of nowhere on a once in a lifetime hunt. Every manufacturer of every firearm has some weakness or defect inherent in every firearm ever made….the internet allows molehills to quickly form into mountain ranges. I wouldn’t throw the baby out with the bath water and disregard all 700’s because a bolt handle broke. I generally modify the bolt handles on my 700’s anyway and have them threaded and I’ve asked the guys doing the work about their experience and opinions regarding this issue and they said “it’s RARE”. It’s gotta be rare because in years of being in the business and decades of seeing “everything” from defects in materials and workmanship to severe defects in operator sanity and IQ but I don’t recall EVER having a broken bolt handle on a 700. I recall a few broken bolt handles on other makes and models but not a 700. I would be inclined to say that while the 700 bolt handle could be created to be more durable it’s a solution in search of a problem. The failures of the brazing (not the best system imo) or casting imperfections or quality control are definitely potential points for failures but not knowing how the firearm was treated in the years prior could also contribute to the failure. Banging on the bolt handle to open a stuck action IS something I’ve seen far too often and could cause weakness…just too many variables for me to blame on the rifle. I’d need to see a hell of a lot more examples of broken bolts before I’d lose any sleep over mine….or simply 1 failure of mine before I rethought my opinion. I don’t blame anyone for having favorite brands and for having distrust in other brands because that’s what makes us “loonies”…or since I find “loony” to be a pejorative term maybe “enthusiast’s” is a better descriptive. I feel like I fret the little things (guns) as much as anyone does which is probably why most of my rifles are modified and some are heavily modified to “fix” the issues mass production can create. In all of the countless hours of discussing my rifle builds or other rifle builds I don’t recall ever being advised to proactively fix the bolt handle and I don’t recall seeing gunsmiths or companies that specifically do a lot of 700 bolts suggest or offer the bolt handle “beefing up” service. If broken bolt handles was a common enough occurrence I guarantee that there’d be a cottage industry giving gun guys a million different options. 😉

I have one of those laminated stock221 Fireballs and it’s one of my most accurate rifles with Sierra 40 Blitzkings. From what I’ve read it seems that only 200 or so were made.

Taking up the same broken–record routine where the departed savage_99 left off, are we? According to some there should be millions more of these.🤣🤣🤣 I bought a new Remington 700, one of the higher grade and therefore more expensive models, back around the 2010 time frame. Put a scope on it and was sighting it in, and after the third of forth shot the bolt handle came off. My first thought was that my handload was too hot and had caused it, but that was not the case. Sent it back to Remington and it was fixed. I have have owned dozens of Model 700's and 7's, and have had the one bolt handle issue, as well as a bad trigger on a Model 7. Remington is still my rifle of choice, and I've not let those issues bother me in the least.

Taking up the same broken–record routine where the departed savage_99 left off, are we? Actually, I had this and the fail on fire safety and the non-bolt locking safety and the flimsy, sheet metal extractor issues long before he did. There is a reason as to why there is an entire cottage industry focused on "improvements" to the 700 that curiously enough, addresses all the maladies enumerated above.

700 BDL 6mm Rem and factory ammo Love that! My first rifle was the 6mm ADL and had a gorgeous stock. I cracked it. Replaced a few times now wears a Stocky's with a floorplate. You have some great pics and fantastic hunting places.

This is the first but not the last Remington I bought. It’s a 700 SS in 30-06. I bought it new in 1993 at a local bait and tackle shop which is long gone for $440. It’s been a good one. I have the same exact rifle.....still one of my favorites

Early Model 7 in 6mm and two 788's in 7mm-08 and 308 are the closest thing I have to a 700. Not a thing against them, just never the right one at the right price. You all have some nice ones!

.17 Rem My .17 Rem is a coyote splat'n SOB. Other than replacing the wood stock with a McMillan Edge it is all original with a round count that most here swear would burn a bbl out, let alone at 4000+ FPS, and I'll bet I have only cleaned it 10 or so times. It still throws a 1/2" 5 shot group at 100 yds. I wouldn't doubt it has 3000+ rounds through it, but I really can't say for sure. All but a hundred or so at live critters of some sort. Put a 6x32 Leupold on it at the same time I replaced the stock but truth be told, that cheap ass Nikon Buckmasters 3-9x40 was the only variable scope I ever had that never gave me any trouble.

It is fine but admittedly I haven’t ran it through the ringer so I can’t attest to its durability.
I don’t shoot that rifle much these days because AK law requires ground squirrels to be utilized (meat or hide), as well as coyotes and fox (hide) along with most every other varmint other than porcupines and a few other oddball critters. Before I got transferred up here I could shoot varmints all summer and winter without dealing with those kinds of laws.

Thanks. I’ve run those scopes for miles and miles on end with no issue mechanically.
Those are crazy laws. Thankfully I don’t have to deal with that where I’m at. Most everything, including wolves, are free game with a few exceptions year round. And it’s up to you what you do with it.

Good to know Tinman! I've got two .17s and shoot at least one of them quite a bit. I have not found the old fouling tale to be an issue, have in many occasions shot 100+ rounds without cleaning and no decrement in performance. I'm finally getting to the age where I won't live long enough to wear out their barrels so they are getting more use. As for you 6x36 scope on the little flat shooting rifle. Back when I was pretty serious about calling coyotes the favorite rifle was a sporter weight .22-250 with a straight 6X on it. Point and shoot out to ludicrous distance. Same could be said for the .17 Rem As always, your posts contain some good info.

1965 ADL 222 Rem Lyman 10x What's going on with the ring-caps on that one? I suspect they're not all scuffed/scratched, your stuff is too nice.
