Slum beat me to the Pelosi news, but not to be outdone we just had a shaker not far from here. Centered near Cassel CA. Maybe 65 miles or so straight line distance.

First one I've felt since moving here. I sorta missed them after all the years in SoCal, over on the Coast, and in AK.

One of the dogs even got concerned and left the living room for the bedroom.

I only ever experienced one once. Small little tremor when I first moved to California. Like 7 days in. Wasn't much - like a train going past the house, low vib/hum and that was it.

Dude,

have you ever felt an earthquake?

It's amazeballs!

I've been through hurricanes, blizzards, big coastal wind and rain storms, damn near tornadic wind events (straight line bordering on rotation), 400k acre fires in the area, lightning, hail, and such. But a good shaker shows the power of Ma Nature, friggen rocks break, cracks appear in the earth, the ground moves up and down visibly and makes noise.

About the only thing I think could top it would be Shasta or Lassen blowing their top. And I'm too close to want to see that happen. I hope this isn't a precursor as Lassen isn't far from where the quake hit.

Yeah, you got hit hard.

We were just far enough away when I lived over your way in the 90's to avoid major damage.

Don't want to be too close, this one 65 miles away is about right.

Sitting right here[100+ year old building, 2nd floor-1st floor has 14' ceiling so fairly high for a 2 story].
Was most likely posting on TNDEER as it was 5 months prior to joining here.

Not so sure "amazeballs" is how I would describe it but spooky as crap once I figgered out why my monitor/desk/chair and then BUILDING were rocking!

Not this one.
And either the S waves weren't enough to feel given our geology or we were close enough they seemed to have hit with the P wave.

Better watch for Lassen and Shasta sending up smoke. In Burney, betwixt the two.

Tis the season. I remember a 9th grade Science teacher that would do an earthquake segment in the fall because there were always quakes when the seasons changed. For 30+ years now he has been right.

Lassen last erupted in 1915. I hunt in the area, no shortage of rocks everywhere.

We had a small one here once. My kids were little then. My older one came into the bedroom all wide eyed and asked “Daddy, did our house move?”

Yep.

I could see the signals from Shasta, assuming she wasn't creating clouds as is usual. Someone would have to notify me of any from Lassen.

Two big biotches with attitudes that haven't blown their tops in awhile.
