Thinking for the first time ever that I will look elsewhere, very disappointed !!!!!!!!

This is is illogical to me. You have an item that has worked successfully for 40 years and a one time incident causes you to quit using the companys product.

It is a mechanical device - all mechanical devices will fail. It is only a matter of when it is going to happen, in this case it happened at a bad time. To me that is no reason to give up on a product that gave good service numerous times in the prior 40 years.

Not as many as some guys would like to believe. If you look at the list that was posted in this thread, there are none listed on that list. .

Would they be listed as frozen? I can honestly say, I've never looked at a BR competition score sheet beyond that of our small club matches.

I don't HATE Leupold. But, I don't buy them anymore. I'm still 50+ deep in Leupold scopes, but, I no longer mount them on any rifle I'm going to use for filling big-game tags. Varmint and target rifles mostly now.

I got sick of:

A "roaming-zero" during different range sessions.

Having to sneak up on a zero with dialing past then clicking back to to reduce backlash

Tapping on the turret housing with something, etc.

Sighting in final POI/POA with the rough center of a 3-5 shot group because you can't get a precise POI/POA with the actual adjustments.

Only being able to move 1 turret at a time during sight in as if you move both you're as likely to end up either, half-way there, or 2x further than you wanted, as you are to end up where it was intended to be based upon actual input on the turret.

I used to be the guy jumping up and down swearing this could never happen and that it was the user's fault. The rings were too tight, or not tight enough, or not lapped, or, and, or, and, or, and, etc, etc, etc............

Then I used some scopes that did track accurately, through both the horizontal AND vertical at the same time, retained zero over multiple range trips, would allow the bbl'd action to be removed and installed without shifting POI/POA.

For a long time, I didn't know what I didn't know, until I did.

I doubt they would be listed as frozen, but I was looking at the mounts. The mounts that are listed are all standard rings/bases.

I sure could go for some $2.50/gal gas and a mean tweet!

Actually I had read all of the threads and had waited a few days before posting. It seems to me that you were unlucky, nothing more - nothing less. It is a fact that anything mechanical will fail eventually

Witnessed a very disappointing failure firsthand today. VX6HD would not hold zero and utter failure to track vertically. Watching while spinning the turret up would move the reticle up. Spinning the turret down, no movement whatsoever. Brand new out of box. Put my 40 year-old vari-x iii on and the same rifle shot sub MOA, tracked correctly, and return to zero as expected. I will not be spending a penny on any new Leopold.

My NightForce's illumination malfunctioned. I had to send it in to get fixed.

I will not be spending a penny on any new Nightforce.

Your math is faulty. You failed to account for 40 years of usage where there was no failure.

I should have just bought a Natchez Weaver Classic. That gold ring sure is pretty on top of a rifle though!

Just got back my Leupold scope......
from their repair service report complete windage and elevation failure.....
hard to imagine on a scope only 4 years old and functioned perfectly only 7 days earlier....but happened the same way with a different scope less than a year ago......
Have too many Leupold scopes to replace them all but will find something better for my big game rifles and use my Leupold's for varmint and predator rifles....very disappointing
