OSU Sig- I have never seen a B78 in 250 Savage I bet that's one sweet rifle. It was a 22-250 that I had bored out to 250 Savage. It was a 26'' heavy barrel that I had cut down to 23" and thread for a suppressor. It has helped the balance but I need a set of the sling swivels for the B78, or I need to add swivel studs.

Shot my first whitetail buck in 1956 with a 257x6.5 Arisaka. Next half dozen or so with a mod 722 257 Roberts. Had a mod 20 savage in 250-3000, had belonged to my Dad. Then got a 25-06 mod 700, but too loud and didn't drop em any better than the Roberts. Have an old Savage 25-20 that was my father in laws. Hope to get my next buck with my Ruger Hawkeye 257 Roberts, its taken a few of the last ones. I was 80 yrs last April, but as long as the thrill is there I'll keep climbing the hills, but they are steeper now.

It didn't have the studs in the stock and forarm? Not a hard fix. I assume it's the round barrel so you could put a barrel band stud there vs the forarm

The B78 uses a different kind of swivel than the Low Wall uses. The base fits flush with the stock.

I wish Marlin/Ruger would bring the 1894 back in 25-20 and the 336 in 25-35. I would be running with cash for each.

Have had a Ruger 77 & No.1 in 25-06 plus about 4 Rem 700's. One of them my truck gun for 12 or 15 years, yeah it killed a lot. Had a couple Bobs in M77's & wife took her first buck with one of them.
Don't need anymore rifles but a 25 Souper of a 25 Creed has been pondered on.

I’m starting to think I’m quarter bore cursed. I had a late 80’s/early 90’s 700BDL SS 25/06 that didn’t shoot well enough for me to keep it. Then in the last 3-4 years I bought a Ruger 77 257Roberts that shot 2-4” groups so it got sold then a very nice 25/06 700BDL that also didn’t shoot very well so I sent it off for a new barrel and it is about to go back as it too shoots only “ok”.
Hopefully one day I’ll get a keeper.
I haven’t given up hope though, I found 150 pcs of new 6.5x47L brass I didn’t know I had so I’m thinking a 25x47 Lapua will solve my problems.

Count me in with a R700 CDL 25-06, T3x 25-06, Ruger RL .257 Rob, Win 70 Fwt .257 Rob.
I think the .25’s are a sweet spot among many great options.

25-35 Sav 1899B
250-3000 Sav 99 x2
250-3000 Sav 1920
250-3000 Custom Mauser
250-3000 Rebarreled Sav 10
257R Custom Ariska
257R Rem 722
25-204 Sav 10. That I built right after the 204 came out, it was an simple way to duplicate the 257.Kimber.
6.5x58R Saure drilling that shoots 75gr Vmax(257) sub MOA At 200 yards .260 groove and big lands.
I only have the 25-204 and the 6.5x58R Sauer left.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.
