Been happening in the western states for years.
They ban hunting, trapping of anything, not to mention public land closures, feral horse protection, wolf programs.... the list is long. Too long.
Emotions and liberals have NO place in wildlife or public land management. Period.

It also means the lions will spread out due to competition in their previous range. We have a few lions wondering through the Midwest now. This will force more of them to follow the food source (cattle and sheep) to new locations. kwg

They don't hunt, don't live in a rural area, unless it is a suburb with McMansions on 1 or 2 acre lots, and they view cougars as beautiful creatures, not efficient killing machines that have evolved to where they are today by being better at survival than their competition.

Urban people setting the rules for rural areas. The largest, healthiest blacktail population in the country destroyed, decimated by the ban on mtn lion hunting in 1972 in Calif. That wasn't enough, then came the ban on hunting bear with hounds, that was the icing on the cake and death certificate for the struggling deer population. Thanks a lot LA and San Fran.
