Ya, Mr. Furious (Jim) was talking to Effie and was told the 50th anniversary model 14 Classic would be offered in 300.

Yep, I'm interested, as it won't have the barrel nut on it, which means Joe has the ideal tool for switch barrels on it, I am really waiting for the 250, Jim says the custom shop will do you one up in 250, and that goes for any of the models. I would love to have a 14 Euro classic in 250 and 300 Sav. Les

I could do without the gold engraving, reason why I would rather just get a 14 Euro in 250, none of that frilly crap, but ya get Iron sights with it. Les

I think that thing is fugly. $1700 for a gold plated accutrigger?

Naw, I'd rather pay the same amount and get the custom shop to make me a set of 110's in 300 and 250 with consecutive serial numbers.

Better Idea, but don't you want 10's, not 110's, remember the 110 is the long action, have you looked at the 14 Euro? Les

Agree.. I'd much prefer the 250 Savage, especially for something aimed at being a collectible type.

Dunno, don't think it's that ugly for being a bolt action. Schnabel would make it better, but..

Schnabel? It's a 50th anniversary of the 110, not the 1920.

Thats about as good as bringing out the commemorative of the 1895 in 308.

Can't see the appeal for a 110 anniversary gun - in any caliber...

and, the Remington 700 Classic in .300 wasn't exactly a barn burner either.

those 110 anniversary guns will be on GB for a long time after.

My main problem with the 110 Anniversary gun is that it is a long action, ferget that, I want a short action.

It seems to me that I recall Savage chambering the 300 Savage in some other bolt action rifles. IIRC, the 1920, 20/26, 40, 45, 110 WLE, and the pre-AT 11s were all cataloged as being chambered for the 300 Savage at some point during their product life-cycle. There was also a non-cataloged run of 110s in 300 Savage at some point during the late 1980s. That run of rifles had the Indian Head logo laser engraved in the stock and came, IIRC, with a matching hunting knife.

The price seems kind of high, considering that I've bought minty 110 PEs for a good deal less than $1K, but lots of people seem to be paying huge $$ for shooter grade 99s, so maybe there really is a market for 1,000 of them.

Agree with Lightfoot they'll be showing up on GB for a long time..

Just look at how long it's taken Grice's to sell their special run of Rem. 7600's in 300 Savage.

It's a good hunting caliber, but with very little following.. especially for one that pricey.

For that price I go with the Remington too! I can still find THREE 90% Savage "F"s in a 300 with money left over for that $35.- a box ammo for $1725.

Already bought a minty 1963 Remington 700 in a 243 with a 2.5 - 8 period Weaver scope on it for a potential donor action. If it don't shoot to standard, it will get a custom barrel job chambered for a 250 Savage AI. with expectations of sub 1/2 groups. For the money, I think I can get a better rifle buildt to MY specifications. End of story!

Two years ago I picked up a NIB 110 WLE in 250-3000 on GunsAmerica for $435. The seller actually had two of them, both NIB. It is a tackdriver with handloads and has some of the nicest wood I have ever seen on a production rifle. I adjusted the trigger to a very nice and crisp 4 lbs without creep and no backlash. It is fun to shoot at the range because it has very little recoil and usually draws attention because of the wood. Shot a very nice Michigan buck with it in the 2006 season. Have seen this model once before in 7mm and twice before in 300 Savage. That would be the 300 Savage bolt action I would go after. I would have to pass on the 2008 Anniversary Model.
