I am new to the caliber as I have always been a 45 colt lever man.
I am going to use to for my woods rifle during deer season this year.
I have 210 grain Remington jacketed hollow points at 1200 fps or
215 swc at 1005 fps
I think I would gain around 300 fps with the longer barrel of the carbine.
Which ammo before shooting them would you choose for deer hunting?

Thank you

Nice to see the 41 in use. Don't currently own one but am a fan; getting one is further down my list than current targets.

Anyways, either one should work fine but those do seem mild for '41. Personally, I would choose the hollow point (are you sure these aren't the soft points?).
300fps gain seems a bit optimistic when I look at "ballistics by the inch".

Happy hunting! I'm sure either will work great if you place your shot.

Two things that would concern me: functioning and bullet integrity. With regard to functioning, does the SWC work through the lever action? With regard to bullet integrity, how hard is your 215 grain SWC? How fragile is the Remington 210 gr HP? if the Remington HP is made to open at speeds typically obtained with 4" - 6" revolvers, how will it perform at the increased speeds from the carbine?
