What would a guy be looking at, cost wise to build a 17 WSM on a RimX action with a prefit Lilja barrel?
Just looking for an approximate spend for parts and a smith screwing everything together.
Stock and TT trigger are known costs.
Thanks!

Pretty simple to price out. An action and magazine will cost you $1150 direct from Zermatt. Lija stainless blanks are going to start at $420. A smith to screw it all together will be another $350-450. But you'll end up with a rifle that's a ton of fun to shoot.

Primal Rights/TS Customs did my RimX/Liljee barreled action. Can't remember the cost without digging it up, but it was high. And SO worth it.....

I was trying to locate the pictures of your WSM and 22 LR to show my BIL.
He’s hot to get a build going.

Like Don I had TS customs do mine. It was high but I love it. I know high can mean many different things. It’s just like any other build. I spent extra on flutes I don’t have to have. I had it threaded for a suppressor and used a $900 manners stock. So a man could grab a Black Friday greyboe skip the flutes and can and save about $800 or so. I can’t think of any other areas to save. Unless they’ve changed lilja doesn’t offer the 17wsm in a prefit.

I wish this round would have taken off enough to have more options besides a $350 Savage or a $2,000 Ruger or custom . I never could warm up to the Savage . And there’s other stuff I’d rather drop $2 grand on like a suppressor host and suppressor for example.

I shoot a "few" 17 Whizzum's and simply LOVE the chambering. Hint.
Sadly,Vudoo doesn't chamber same,though I have one of their HMR's. Hint.
My Franklin Whizzum is a fhuqking hammer and I think rather highly of it. Same goes my Ruger 77/17. Hint................

Not a 17 WSM, but a Rim-X. Puts a huge smile on my face smacking that smallest swinger on a KYL rack every single time…..

That BMag is atrocious and I can’t bring myself to drop serious coin in a rimfire…

Where are you all getting 17 WSM ammo? It looks to be in short supply and perhaps only available in 15gr and 20gr offerings.
I'm considering rechambering my 17 HMR single shot but don't want to do that if ammo has been discontinued and in dwindling supply.

I had one. Sold it after i shot all the ammo. It was fun until ammo got really expensive and hard to find.

I used to look askance at those great big magazines for tiny rimfire rounds, but now suddenly find myself with a .22 mag AR with a “necked down” box just like ‘em. Works very well too. Nice rig you have there. Don’s too of course, like all his stuff…..
What fresh Hell is this?

Ammo is finally finding it's way into shelves again and prices are coming down. I expect prices and availability to improve considerably in the next year. As I understand it, the WSM brass is based off of 27 caliber nail gun blanks which have been in high demand due to the housing boom. Now that the housing boom is ending, the demand for powder blanks should be waning.
