Lifetime warranty in my neck of the woods, buddy had his cracked in the last year, he actually puts a leaf blower up to it and spins the thermometer all the way around to sear his steaks. No questions asked.

I've got two larges, the regular black bge nest on both

This is only the second time I've used it but noticed right away more actual charcoal sifted down.

I've been using a Kick Ash Basket with the Kamado Joe Jr. with no problems. I get better air flow around the charcoal than with the original cast iron plate which would quickly have it's air holes covered with ash.

Again, thank you guys for the advice.

My wife dug around the pile of paperwork and actually found the receipt from 1-23-21. I should be good to go on the warranty when I actually get around to it.

Drill the crack out and seal it up with some flex seal.

Leave a hole in the side and install a propane crawdad burner in it.

Then you would really have something good.

The crack is fine and the egg will still work. Mine did the same and since it has a lifetime warranty, my dealer replaced the bottom no charge. I did change from a nest to a table for sitting the egg in though.

I have a L BGE have used for 10 years. The outside shell has never cracked but the inside line has cracked at the 5 year mark. BGE warranties it and the new one is now cracked 5 years latter. I plan to run it until its not usable.
I use lump charcoal only, but I do use lighter fluid to start and if I am in a hurry I use a small batteru powered blower to heat it up quick.
At this point it doesn't owe me anything.
