Unless you mistyped that number, a bear that size must be bigger than 95% of bears killed in a year.
We usually can kill a 10 foot square bear and over every season, usually at least one or more. 9 foot isn't bad. 9.5 feet is time to seriously think about shooting.

Have a client that has a 10 foot plus that comes back waiting on an 11 foot or better bear quite often. Sad to say has not happened.

I cannot claim a 10 foot bear yet for a client. My mentors best is 10 foot 10 or 11 inches IIRC.

Honest squares not pulled and tugged and stretched.

I think anyone should be happy with 9 foot and over. IMHO..

It's not too late- they are still out.

Mauling on Hidden Lake Trail. Guy got between sow and cub. All survived.

The guy can now wear a Captain Crunch badge. smile

I heard they were fishing in the middle of lots of brownie tracks and scat. Both unarmed.

If you take the time it takes, it takes less time.
