Found my data. Was shooting 56 grains of IMR 4064 behind that 270 grain Speer Hot-core.

And thanks again fellas for the nice comments

That was a bad one. The ridge shows that you were in the middle of it. How did the rest of the ranch fare? Lots of homes lost-bad deal.

About 2/3’s of the ranch burned. But we lost no structures. One of the good things was my now late aunt who was ranch owner had started a pine beetle kill mitigation of lots of dead wood the year before. May have saved the south end of Grand Lake.

Then they all ran down the meadow to me. And I got a gap in the herd and got this 5x5 at about 200 yds with old Husqvarna ( one We rechambered to 93.x62) 270 grain Speer Hot core and I can’t remember the load of IMR 4064. Boom flopped this boy!
Congrats to you and your son, Bob!

Congratulations, nice bulls! You made that sound too easy though. Those burn scars are kind of eerie, especially the ones right inside the park where the trees are all either blown over or snapped off in the same direction.
