rendered entirely moot by using a wide meplat lead projectile.

60 grain load of 2f under a 460 grain lead bullet with a nice wide flat point will kill a deer stone cold at 125 yds.

Use what you want, lots of stuff works. But my personal experience has guided me to fret over chasing velocity wrt muzzleloaders and normal distances.
