10th grade history class

I was in 3rd grade at Roosevelt Elementary

I was in 7th grade at Le Pera elementary school in Poston, Arizona. We came in from recess and the teacher told us the president had been shot. She was pretty upset but we didn’t really understand why we should be upset. We didn’t know him. Thanksgiving was coming up and we had a short week next week.

I remember they hauled his body all around for several days. At one point my dad commented they were going to wear him out hauling him around. Needed to go ahead and get him buried.

It wasn’t until years later I realized was a significant turn of events this was and how our country would suffer for decades because of the Johnson presidency. We are still paying the price for what those people did.

I was in the 7 grade !

I'd just gone to sleep about an hour earlier after getting off swing shift at OSAN AFB Korea. I think i was about 2 or 3 in the morning when someone was banging in the barracks window hollering to open up. I open it asked what he wanted and he said JFK had just been assassinated. Ot dressed because I could figure out what was gonna happen next. Got a call from the detachment to report ASAP. When I got there the CO tells us JFK is dead and issues M2 carbines to us. We're taken to security and then dropped off along the base perimeter fence. Instruction were holler halt three times in English and Korean.. No halt, shoot. Guess they figured the Norks were gonna come across the 38th Parallel again.
I guess the the assassination hit me a bit hard as just 6 months prior to shipping out to Korea I'd met the man and shook his hand.

I was in second grade. We all went to the gym for a black and white TV coverage. I don't recall them letting us out of school early.

I don’t think he sang Abraham, Martin , and Jon , did he?

You would probably be even more surprised by what we can do - were you to develop a normal level of knowledge and intelligence.

JFK was shot?

I was two and a half when it happened, and have no memory of it whatsoever.

I was 3 months old. My Dad had just been transferred to Germany (USAF) and my Mom was getting the rest of us ready to move over there. My Mom related to us that it was a somber and anxiety filled time. November 22, was my parents anniversary.

it was 8 years before I was born.

Chicago, junior year high school, midday-ish (+/-) panicked, teary-eyed students running hallways popping heads into classrooms blurting out the news. With Chicago being a long standing Democrat stronghold plus with a high population of Catholics it shouldn't be much of a surprise that the JFK assassination was a major big, BIG trauma for Chicago / Chicagoans.

USAF, Barksdale AFB, La working at 2nd Reconnaissance Technical Support Squadron. I heard the death of JFK on the radio. I do remember it well as JFK was well thought of as President.

Third grade. Announced came over the school intercom system, the nun who was sitting at her desk burst out in tears. Sister Mary _ _ _ _ _ ?

It was raining on the farm, my Dad said, a clock radio that had stopped working, came on with the news, then quit working.

I was in 3rd grade in 63, my Dad and I were sick at home when it came on TV, only time I ever saw my Dad cry or miss work, horrible Day, how could that happen in Dallas was what I remember thinking.

I have an alibi. Any more inquiries need to go through my lawyer and you'll need a warrant too.
