Provide your laptop model number so we can see how the hardware is configured from factory. This will make it much easier to know how to proceed. Also, let us know your region, so we might recommend a decent place for upgrades without using the Goober Squids. I change hardware fairly often, and can help guide your decisions. PM if you want.

A buddy of mine who used to work in IT for a big firm told me that desktop upgrades are easy. He also said that laptops are kind of iffy as to whether they will work. Good luck, Dave

I want to increase my hard drive from 500GB to 1TB. I have two small plug-in hard drives, but I do not want to have to use those all the time. It looks to me like you've already stretched the computer beyond it's original intent. Maybe a new one is in order?

Some laptops have a slot for an extra SSd hard drive some don't. Email the manufacturer's help page and ask them, simple to do.
