OP, what condition is the bbl in? Tearing apart a Pre '64 270 Featherweight to build a 280 AI would be an affront to the Hunting Gods. Yeah, maybe....but without a stock and depending on the bore condition, exceptions can be made. Luv me a pre-64 action...

if you are going to disassemble a pre 64 M70, i have the pre 64 70 action with factory steel bottom metal, with a Shilen 338-06 barrel in it. happy to work out a swap with someone if theirs destined as a donor action and has a factory bbl on it currently.
