Hotrod_Lincoln, that brings back the memories. My Dad was known for his ability to tune flatheads and he raced ‘32 Fords on dirt tracks of gumbo. He held the track record in Greenville Mississippi for a number of years. He welded the rear ends and was always trying new parts. Always had a ‘32 in the backyard with an aluminum fighter jet seat in it that I played in. I also rocked in those front fenders he took off his race cars. I had a rich childhood and would hand him wrenches when I was only 5-6 years olds. I also knew how to stay out of the way when his red hot temper got the best of a situation. He was a truck driver, mechanic and bouncer at a beer joint that had a gambling room on the side. He kept the place safe and civil. He kept a 1911 and an 18” of braided copper cable close at hand to supplement his big fists. He could pick up a full 55 galllon drum. Much a man. They called him Red or Redtop because of his hair. He ran a little shine in his younger days around Bugger Den. Kept a fast car usually a Ford or Mercury big block I miss him.

Going to look at a rolling frame tomorrow, about 80 miles from home- - - - -1932 Ford coupe frame that's been boxed, and modified for a Mustang II independent front end and a Chevy 10 bolt rear end. Somebody's half finished project that never got on the road. I can buy it for pennies on the dollar. Both of those mods will be rehabbed back to the original buggy spring suspension, but I've got another project in progress that can use the M-II . It's an Excalibur roadster kit car that's getting a 61 Cadillac 390 engine, a Turbo 400 trans, and a Toyota Supra independent suspension rear end. That one's going to be a speeding ticket magnet!
