14 year old 8th grader???
Obviously school wasn’t a priority.
Clyde Isn't 14 the average age of an 8th grader? Granted, he should have been at home doing his homework - or do they even assign that anymore?When Dubya's Top 10% college admission law got blown up by the public and a few lawsuits, one of the Houston stations showed an interview with a black girl who was a senior at Yates High School. She said she felt sorry for the kids who had worked hard but were denied admission due to the rule. She said she was in her top 10 in her class and could not academically perform at anywhere near the levels the kids at other schools did. Her telling statement was " I've never had any homework in all of my school years." At that time, Yates High School was repeatedly the lowest ranked HS in the state and probably still is almost 38 years later..

He was shot in the act of a felony that the law considers prone to result in severe bodily harm or death to its victim, i.e., breaking and entering into an occupied home at night for the purpose of theft and/or robbery.

Since race isn't mentioned in any of the reports, we can assume the boy was black. Too many here will! Him being outside could be problematic...maybe. Castle Doctrine can be interpreted differently by different DAs, and you can be charged for anything anytime. Laws I'm familiar with say, " Reasonable fear of death or serious bodily injury". Age has no bearing, size might. Maybe. A woman, inside, someone is breaking in? If she made her presence known, and he kept trying to get in? She had good reason to "fear death or serious bodily injury"¡ All this worry [bleep]. If you are fearful you protect yourself. Its as simple as that. FWIW it was dark and that negates any legal worry about outside. But the fact people even worry about what ammo. What gun. how many shots. were was perp, where did bullets hit and so on shows how far we have gone down as a society. even if the kid was drunk or high and screwing off, its the kid that killed himself. not the shooter. simple as that.
