I thought that is why Ruger came out with the American. Who would steal that?

Until coming across this thread just now, I have never imagined anyone doing so...I mean, the thought has never crossed my mind that someone would leave a firearm unattended anywhere. The whole idea is just an anathema to me. Same here. I feel like some old Gunnery Sergeant would wake from the dead and haunt me for all eternity. I don't even like to sit with my firearm more than arms length away from me.

No. Never crossed my mind to do so, and doubt it ever will.

No way! Because of the carnal nature of man and a life long experience in the worst of mankind I hardly leave toilet paper at my stand... come to think of it , I don't even do that. I have, on occasion, left toilet paper near a stand. No one has taken it. I guess there's not much of a resale value on used toilet paper.

My late uncle told me about a friend of his that let him hunt out of a ground blind on his property. The oldtimer told him that he left a shotgun in the blind just in case a gobbler happened by. My uncle said sure enough, there was an old, rusted, long barrel single shot 12ga sitting in the corner. Curiosity got the best of him so he jacked with the old shotgun until he got it to open. Out fell a paper shell the fell apart in his hand!

Not unless my stand was my house.

I had a friend leave his rifle in a stand over night last season. It was on a family members property in Georgia. He was going to hunt the same stand in the morning. when he went back it was gone.

ahhhhhhhhh........not only no, but HELL NO!!!! besides I see deer on my sneak going to and from my stand / blind , or sometimes i will decide to settle in against an ole tree or brush pile and never get back to my stand / blind . you just never know. and like others have said it could just grow legs and be gone when you get back to it !
teach your children well , ride hard, shoot straight, be involved!
