Green Top Hunt and Fish in Richmond Virginia is Va's top gun seller. Benelli and Browning produce exclusive guns for Green Top. Right now, Browning is producing a run of A5s with 24" barrels in Mossy Oak Bottomland. A few years ago when Browning did this, the guns sold out post haste. Looks like they have a lot more coming in this time. Just a heads up if you're interested in a 24" A5. I don't think you can get a 24" model anywhere else.
I went to Green Top today. They had one of these 24" A5s on the rack. $1,895. I don't think I paid close to that much for my 26" A5, new, with the same camo, and I got two more inches of barrel. But the 24" would make a neat turkey gun. I played with it for a few mintues and put it back.
They did have a new Browning Cynergy O/U turkey gun on the rack. It was in Bottomland camo, too. I like the sights on it. One thing I noticed: the top extended choke tube was rifled, and the bottom was smooth. I was unaware they came with a rifled choke tube.
do they still keep a good supply of old guns on the floor they way they use to? i never been to the new store yet.
There are quite a few and all the long guns except the high end stuff can be picked up without asking. One thing I like about Green top. I usually don't know what I want until I see it.
Yes, they had a ton of guns on the floor up to Christmas. After Christmas, the racks were about 1/2 full. They must have sold a ton. But the racks are filling back up.
I bought a new A5 three years ago it has relgated my SBE2 to back up as a waterfowl gun

I have owned several A5's all with 26" barrels but i currently only own Benelli M2's and Ultralights with 24" barrels, and it looks like Benelli has discontinued as the Ultralight model is no longer listed on their site (probly be a new updated model at SHOT)....And I will buy one of these 24" A5's for a turkey gun if available again...I love the feel of a short barrel semiauto shotgun....Hb
Went to Green Top today. No 24"A5s in stock at this time. In fact, they seemed a little light on guns right now. The only A5s I saw were 16 gauges. But they may have had some in the back. Who knows, I didn't ask.
I was at Green Top on Saturday. I asked about the 24" A5. They will have more in sometime in March. It's a near $2,000 gun.
I asked about the 20 gauge A5 and was told they don't know when the will get those, Browning hasn't told them according to who I talked to.
I will say, they had quite a few Benelli M2 20 gauges. Most of those were running in the $1200-$1300 range, which is almost certainly less than what the A5 20 gauge will run. I am absolutely smitten with the M2, especially the new forend with the finger grooves. I'm a Browning guy, though I own some Benellis. I will say I think the M2 is way up there when it comes to best bang for the buck for inertia guns.
I changed my mind, as I often do, and I traded my 26" A5 for the 24" A5. Green Top gave me a decent trade-in on my 26" and gave me a little bit of a discount off the 24". They had 114 24" A5s in stock as of May 2, 2024. Well, 113 when I was done, plus one, used 26" A5.
