Thanks.

I'm not giving up just because of a Thanksgiving setback. That will soon be overcome. Only had one meal today. I want to see what 165 feels like before I decide where to go from there.

Thanks Bob. It's easier than I expected it would be.

Brand new low ... 169.0

This on the heels of a few days in an ICU following a carotid artery endarterctomy, which is a cleanout of the plaque buildup in the artery. This was deemed necessary after the multiple strokes I experienced a few weeks ago. The operation and hospital stay resulted in a 48-hour fast, for which I was fortunately rather well prepared, due to my diet experience. Though the hospital food was quite horrible and way off my intended diet, I still managed to lose weight

The operation produced a giant hematoma which, itself, created the need for the extended ICU stay. The lingering swelling and bruising is pretty ugly. I really cannot recommend this as a weight loss technique. Anyway, they released me in time for Christmas.

Merry Christmas fellas.

Edit to add how well the VA staff took care of me. Treated me like royalty.

Dang

I’d hit that with a gush of peroxide.

Good luck.

Thanks fellas.

What may look like a bunch of blood is actually the black & blue bruising from the hematoma. Still very swollen and concerning. Not much pain though.

This thread is still alive LOL

Down from 205 to 185 for COTA in September, first time in the 180's since the 1980's although I am back in the 190's. I need to give myself a 5lb limit rather than 10lbs and switch from OMD to a multi-day fast.

Bought an Apple watch six months ago to track sleep, I get more than I though averaging 7.5 in bed and 6.5 in sleep, pulse looks good running 49-60 resting.

Physical a few weeks ago, blood work looks great except trig and cholesterol, she offered statins again and I rejected the request again. She is fine with me working the diet and I said I will be fasting for a month or two and will go back for blood work to see if it's dietary cholesterol or my healthy liver. I did offer to give up half my liver and she said it don't work that way.

A1C is 5.3, it was like 9 before I changed my lifestyle.

Blood pressure is still elevated and always high at the doctor's office, she said because of her and I said yes, she blushed but she knows she is attractive.

Shooting for the 170's before my 60th birthday in July.
