Dang, sorry to hear that. Maybe someone here may have one. You looking for all original, or a shooter grade?

Not only did i get a nice 1952 standard with a MC stock in 270 with an 8x weaver, I also got a very cool 1954 original cardboard poster of the deer camp hunting scene.(Last year I got the duck camp poster) Im shooting the 270 today. I also got a bonus Savage 24-S in 22/410. I have a picture if anyone would like to post it?

Very nice. I'd love to see them, if you get someone here to post the pics. Thanks!! Sounds like some very cool items, all the way around.

Not a rifle, but I did get a nice long action featherweight stock to upgrade my recently purchased 270 Win Model 70 Ranger. Thanks Santa!

Think about 2006 was my last Model 70 acquisition. Age related, into eighties, time to hold pending my own 'still kickin', time to fold! Happily I'm still good for appreciating a good 70 related war stories", tech discussion or BS IF politely wrapped. Just maybe to see more "centerfolds" as using the available pix space available! smile smile smile

Well dang it. Not a model 70, but I just bought a nice little sporter 52. Made in Japan. Is that even considered a Winchester? Couldn’t say no, at 7 hundy

Close enough for me, especially at a fair deal like that.

My father in law got himself a 1983 Model 70 Carbine in 270 Win about two days before Christmas. Came with the original box of ammo purchased with the rifle, containing 15 pieces of brass and five unfired rounds. Got it from a family friend who wanted him to have it. Leupold gloss 3-9 Vari-X11c to match. Both felt like they screwed each other at $600.

Sounds nice and a very good deal. Now, who got screwed, we'll never know. Selling to friends and family is hard to do. My girlfriends dad was hinting around about wanting a nice older Winchester model 70 270 winchester, and I asked her when he was born. She said 1950. I was thinking the closest thing I have is 1953 in a std wt 270 Winchester. Half tempted to just give him the rifle (if he did the background check). She said NO, as he never shoots his rifles. "He'd never use it", according to her. Well, I guess that settles that then. I think as long as both parties are happy, it doesn't matter the price.

I sold a first year model 88 that had a refurbished stock to a woman who was giving it to her son for Christmas.
