I've been patiently waiting since January 2023 for my first suppressor. Even bought a funky little rifle specifically for the suppressor.
The setup will be used to shoot coyotes in and around the cows during calving season.
I could give a fuuck less at how it 'looks', worrying about 'looks' of it must be a superficial Cali thing. Do these gay soyboy jeans make my butt look big???....lol

If the coyote is already in the cow, isn't it a bit late to start shooting?

They can be awful for balance and length on some things but they can be perfect for things like 22lr, SBR's, and a short 308win. I hate putting them onb a lever action but they can be an neat accessory for an Marlin 44mag SBL 16". An Marlin 44 mag with an muffler and a electronic sight is a really cool and useful package. I suppose it depends on what one puts it on and a purpose.

I can see where the plastic rifle, tac rail, tac bolt handle, handicapped bi-pod, Hubble telescope kids would gravitate towards suppressors....looks wise, what have they got lose at that point? A f..king Midas muffler hanging off the end ain't gonna hurt a thing. Probably the same kids got the sound system in the Tesla going and Taylor Swift cranked up to 120 Db's.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Suppressors balance a lot better than most people think. A good .30 cal can only ways about 1/2 of what a typical scope and rings weigh. Most of mine either go on SBR’s, carbine length barrels, or are shot off of a bench if using a full length barrel. With a shorter length barrel I’d argue that they have less effect on balance than the top heavy feel of a scope.

I wouldn’t put a 6”-8” can on a 24” barrel and go stomp around the woods with it but off of a bench or on a shorter 10”-18” barrel they balance great and keep the rifle to a very manageable length. When on a pistol the loaded mag weighs more than the suppressor. I’ve never wanted fewer bullets though.

They are nice with suppressed loads for killing pigs. The other boys on lease whined about me shooting pigs during deer season

Single shot Contender, no bipod, really quiet. Perfect for bonus tag does right out back.

Spoken like someone with little experience with them. I guess in a perfect world guns would be quiet without them but I'd hardly call them ugly and clunky. It's like calling a scope ugly and clunky. Don't use one if you don't like them, but it makes shooting way way better to have them. They should be sold as accessories and require no background check. Prices would plummet and volume would soar. Regulating them is asinine. Damned straight!

22's and pistol suppressors are usually aluminum and lighter. High power suppressors are usually stainless or titanium. Ti. is expensive and adds cost. Some high poser suppressors don't weigh so much but they still add weight. They add 6-8" of length to the barrel as well. They truly do help with sound, recoil and muzzle jump.

Seriously, is there anything in the world that makes a rifle more ugly or clunky? They're just gross. Sal, on this we agree! I know they have a purpose but they’re butt ugly and ruin the balance of the rifle. The irony of this post will be lost on many! 😂
