Hello all. I have a Mauser bolt action single shot in .22 Magnum. It appears to be a custom gun with a Fajen stock and a Weaver K6 scope. My Dad gave it to me when I was 18 many years ago. It started occasionally misfiring a few years ago and has been getting worse. If you recock the bolt it then fires most of the time. Bottom line, I need to get this thing fixed. Can anyone tell me what this is and where I might be able to find parts for it? 22 MAG.R.F. MAUSER-WERKE A.G. an. Serial #148035 Thanks

It would seem to me any qualified gunsmith worth his salt would be able to diagnose the probelm. I'm no gunsmith whatsoever, but primo cause may well be the rifle in need of a good cleaning. Moving beyond "weak striker spring" next in logical line "usual suspect" for misfires. Third, perhaps the bolt not properly "in battery" meaning fully closed with debris obstructing or said weak striker spring. This doesn't 'sound' like a serious problem!
