Nightforce SHV 3-10x42. It's also available with an illuminated reticle.

Someone needs to make the same thing with a 1" tube. Not everyone needs enough travel to reach 1,000 yards.

SHOT Show 2024 is just a few weeks away. Are you expecting there would be some pre-SHOT announcements here?

Spoiler alert, not likely; All you would get here are rumors from people who do not know.

However, this would be a good place to list your wishes, just as was done in the OP.

I will be at SHOT, and I will try to post here during that week.

I want a scope with a locking elevation knob w/zero stop, capped windage, 3-12x44 to about 3-15x50 or so, with mrad knobs, and a FFP reticle that is usable throughout the power range. Illuminated reticle and alpha glass are a bonus. I want it to weigh no more than 24 oz. If a company made this, I'd buy a couple.

ETA: It needs to track, hold zero, and be able to take a drop.

The Maven RS1.2 is not new for this year, but the FFP/mil variants are a fairly recent addition. I'm still awaiting mine so can't speak about it in use. On paper, the FFP reticle looks to be one of the better hunter centric designs extant.

Lol I’ll take a 1lb 1-6x32 in 1” with a battery free illum dot, a zero lock elevation turret with 1/3 moa clicks, capped low profile windage in regular 1/4 moa, German number 4 with fine middle/dot, green and red. Also needs to take a drop, rtz and track. Oh and big fov, great eyebox (thin outer line and easy to get in and stay in) and the scope needs to be trim and smooth everywhere, no jagged tactical theme turrets and throw levers and eyeboxes.

Could also offer same reticle with some hunter hold hashes and ditch the dial turret for low pro capped, 1/4 moa on it, and sfp is fine.

That would give the hunters dial or reticle solutions. You could technically build all that into one scope and I’d be ok with that too.

Hunting combined with general purpose and defence (also covers Africa dangerous game and everything there too) is a 0-600 game for 99%.

So better offer it in matte and gloss finishes so it can ride on AR’s and nice mausers and everything in between.

Build more options for this as the public becomes more aware of reality and scope functions and build quality.

Less ffp mil horsesh1t please, the wannabes have more than enough crap to choose from lol

I would be pleased if Leupold could a reliability, and zero retention project on its vx3 and vx5 scopes I would be pretty happy. The scopes meet most of my needs are far as size, weight optical performance go. I just don't trust them enough to take on a expensive out of state hunt. Well while they are changing things a little reticle updating would be nice.

If we're making this a wish thread, a lightweight 40mm objective, illuminated reticle, capped windage/elevation fixed 4x with great glass. Would be great hunting in the woods. The Trijicon 1-4x I'm using on my 45/70 doesn't suck, but I'd like a bigger objective for morning and evening.

Best part of this time of year is Doug's SHOT show report. He gives honest opinions of the companies, new products, and the company representatives. And, you get to hear of his ice cream treat of the day after a long day of talking and walking.

Close, but no cigar.

Seems like a no brainer, no idea why they haven’t done this or offer the Mil-R/Mil in the shv.
