Actor David Soul, best known for his role as Detective Kenneth "Hutch" Hutchinson on the 1970s buddy cop series "Starsky & Hutch" has died. He was 80.
David Soul – beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother – died yesterday after a valiant battle for life in the loving company of family. He shared many extraordinary gifts in the world as actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist and dear friend," his wife, Helen Snell, said in a statement.
"His smile, laughter and passion for life will be remembered by the many whose lives he has touched."

I met him at his Malibu home in 1990 maybe? We were sitting at his home because it was in the path of the fire if the winds kept up. He was pretty cool, asked how we were doing and where did we come from. He asked a little about the fire, where and how did it start etc. He then left for a couple hours and just waved when he pulled into his driveway. I don't know Porsches but he was driving one that looked pretty nice.

I'm sorry to hear that. I wrote for Starsky and Hutch, and met Soul on the 20th Fox lot when I was there. Seemed like a decent sort to me ... in a town where that can be rare.

I forget witch one but both his wife and daughter contracted HIV-Aids from a bad blood trasfusion, I would not wish that on anyone.

i liked the guy. Thought he was a good actor. Didn't see him a lot, but he played any role I saw him in, very well.
