Do you have to ask for sweet tea in NC? Or does "tea" just come sweet?

Here in IN there's somewhat of a line of demarcation and that's I70. South of there and "tea" means it's gonna be sweet. Above that and you will likely have to ask for it that way. Having grown up south of that line, serving me unsweet tea and then handing me a couple of packets of sugar/sweetener is not the same!

No southern belles up here. Have had gravy made with city ham and coffee. We don't have country ham.
