Nope. The 250 gr Partition and 250 gr Speer early on, the 225 gr TSX since. I’m sure those partitions hit like a ton of bricks.

Mississippi made them legal in break action rifles for primitive weapons years ago. Me and my hunting buddies shot encores with the game king and killed several dozen with them throughout the years. I grew to love that cartridge but I hated the encore. The Whelen with that bullet is a lot of fun to hunt with. Id not be afraid to shoot anything with it. Looking for a beater pawn shop rifle I can rebarrel to Whelen. Absolutely no need for it anymore but I just feel like I need one. We also tried the 225 accubonds when we ran out of the sierras. It shot well and killed fine too. I liked the sierras the best though

MS started will the straight wall .45” ?
I got a handi rifle 45-70. Synthetic stock. It was a kicker…
Then MS said .444 were legal.
Went with the handi rifle in .444 marlin.
Then they said .35 whelen was legal. Went with encore in .35 whelen. Found an encore prohunter a factory brake in a LGS. Only seen 2 like that.
Being lefty, the encore is ideal for me.
Did send it to Jim Hendershot (?) to have a new 2.5# trigger spring put in and drill and tap for an over travel screw.
I’ve been more than happy with it.

Sierra needs to make more of those bullets. Accubonds are real good. I’ve had great luck with them in my 358.

Several boxes of those 225 Sierra's left over at a local shop in 2022 were $24 a box, but I don't shoot them or have never shot them. Bought them for a guy in WV that was looking for them and shipped them off to him. I don't think I've seen any since.
I'm currently shooting a souped up turbo charged 35 Remington load or soft 358 Win load in my Whelen. 43 gr's of IMR 4198 with the Speer 180 FP shoots well and gets 2475. Recoils like a 35 Rem but is a good bit more of a good thing with that Speer 180 for whitetails.

No I haven’t! My Nosler Outfitter likes the Remington factory 200 grain Core-Lokt. I bought a bunch of 200 grain Accubonds here and need to try them out.

My 250gr partition hammered a 200lb sow last September in Minnesota. She never even twitched.

Doubt they will be at that price if I run across some, but I'll keep an eye out.

I have a Rem 700 Classic in .35 Whelen and have been using it for the last 24 years. Mine shoots the 225 gr. Sierra quite well. Unfortunately they are hard to find but I have taken deer and a small black bear with that load. Not a tough bullet but plenty for deer
