Honest question-

Why do people always bring up the insulin when something sweet is mentioned?

I get a lot of exercise, for the most part eat right.

I enjoy a coke or a Mtn dew as I dont like coffee.

Go for regular checkups, numbers are always ok.

Why would a Southern Comfort and Mtn Dew require insulin?

It's just a joke about sweet drinks, nothing serious.

For my palate straight Bourbon is sweet enough. So for me, sweetened whiskey mixed with a soft drink is "needs an insulin chaser" over the top. grin

Yes, mixing soda pop with Crown will make it drinkable.

Tasting notes for Canadian whiskey often go like this: Reminiscent of indifferently made grain alcohol, flavored with a bit of cheap artificial vanilla extract, and having been used to rinse out an oxidized aluminum can.

Wow! Maybe one should patent that idea. Most certainly, it's an original thought.

Pretty accurate.

Mixing with sugary soda is generally a bad thing with whiskey, but it’s had to ruin “rurn’t”…

Ya'll must have been in the high class joints - for us it was always 'tea' . . . often referred to as "Saigon tea"

Actually, it's nothing more than the classic "High Ball" that everybody drank back in the 50s.

We all have our preferences, but it seems that mathman doesn't care much for Canadian whiskies.

Yep. He's pretty simple that way.
