A friend is hauling some calves to Glasgow for a rancher out south.
Hopefully there will be good enough numbers to draw some buyers. Hopefully the buyers have deep pockets and want to buy now while the gettin's good!

Sam, Hope I don't piss you cattle folks off, but..................... I had a couple of lamb chops for dinner tonight! Not to worry, I ate a t -bone from my neighbors' beef last night.

And it was 54F today, the calves were panting following that -36F two weeks ago. Too cold and now it's too warm! Was looking around today and realized it was 90 degrees warmer than a couple weeks ago. Was speaking to a local farmer Sunday, while buying some beef. We were talking about the crazy winter temps, this year, they are calving at present, so I said it must make it easier. They said, Nope, really hard to keep the little on's clean, & therefore healthy, when everything is a sloppy mess ! Sure took me by surprise !! But in hindsight, makes perfect sense.

Neither was touched period and they melted out to nothing. Gazillions of dogs around, I’ve shot them all around but despite plenty of tracks they never got on those beeves. Osky A livestock guardian dog feels that it's civic duty is to reduce all dead animals to slick white bones as quickly as possible....so they coyotes don't get a chance at them. Then...the bones are scattered from hell to breakfast. Most of which end up on your front lawn and front door steps.

If a cow simply dies here, the coyotes are on it. Get sickly, be doctored with some shots etc, then die, and the coyotes won't touch them for months.
