I’ve never experienced the problem the OP writes about. Every steak I have ever ordered, ever in my entire life, from Western Sizzlin to Ruth’s Chris, came with a knife that would cut the steak.

the OP was not complaining that a knife wasn't provided, just that he was not personally satisfied with the restaurant knife, and wanted an excuse to buy a beteter one. smile

How about a Steak House Bowie Knife challenge?

Take a pic cutting your steak with a bowie knife in public.

I was always looking for a reason to buy a bowie knife anyway.

Now if they brought my steak on a wooden cutting board, I'd use my knife in a minute! But the quickest way to dull a knife is to run the edge up against glass or something similar, like a tooth, or even a hard bone.

Yeah, I grew up in my family's meat packing plant, so I still remember cussing when I'd hit a tooth on the kill floor. wink

Bingo.

Yes I see now that you are correct. I’m ashamed I didn’t pick up on that. Carry on

"That's not a steak knife... This is a steak knife!"

Now I'm thinking of the Mermaid eating the lobster in Splash. She's really hungry.

That's not fair to Don. You know he's not allowed to go out in public.

Looks like a steakknife when it's open, plus it has the features of a high dollar knife for $40 (by Artisan Knives)

I don't know much about women, but have figured out through the years that a woman screws like she eats. That gal would be a good time for sure!

Dude - think that's his daughter you're talking about whistle

That knife sure is purdy!

I'll bet it's blowing through that elk you got this year, like going through butter!
