I liked most all the westerns and also enjoyed The Twilight Zone. Made me think differently about things.

I was 5 in 1956.
Only one TV set in the neighborhood. I went there on Sunday night and saw Disney and the Lone Ranger.

I was 6 in 1957.
Every home in the neighborhood had a TV. Wyatt Earp on TV and Gunsmoke on the radio.

I was 58 in 2009.
The last TV I ever watched. Hoarders recorded with a TV receiver in my computer on Microsoft software.

I am 72 in 2024.
I know only two people who still watch TV. They are old men in a small town in MT.

It’s incredible how that’s come full circle. I was born in the 70’s. We had one TV with the two turn knobs on it and rabbit ears. We got cable when I was about 8-10 years old but still only got about 13 channels IIRC. Eventually my mom added a small TV in the kitchen to watch while making dinner and eventually we had TV’s in our bedrooms. Going to a hotel with the big satellite dishes and the premium channels was a big deal.

I haven’t watched more than a few hours of TV over the past several years, a lot of people under 40 or so basically do not watch it at all either. My three youngest kids/stepkids range between 7 and 14. Their grandmother bought them TV’s for Christmas and my wife added a cable package to our internet. The kids have zero interest in TV.

With all of the information and entertainment available on YouTube, Rumble ect. Traditional TV programming is basically obsolete for most people especially kids.
