Well….what’d he win?
Scratch off? Big horn or goat tag? Another moose?

This is going to sound pompous, but it really isn’t.
I nominate myself.
If you would have told me when I was 15 that I would be fully retired in 30 years and living where I do, and doing all the things I love, with a healthy family, I would probably start to cry.
I don’t consider myself lucky at all. Just extremely grateful that God has provided for me and my family.
Tragedy could strike tomorrow, but today is pretty damn great. While I unfortunately have never met you in person, you were my first contact on the Campfire and I ended up buying a Leupold FX-3 from you way back when. What a great post, we should all be as grateful for all we’ve received!

Tragedy could strike tomorrow, but today is pretty damn great. I feel the same. Great family, everything I could ask for, health, and live in the Great state of North Dakota. No complaints here. Everyone is different but I'm happy.

I’ve got a couple buddies that are “lucky”
They own / run a family business.
They go on a couple hunting trips a year. TX, Wisconsin, Other places…
The pics they txt me are awesome……….
but they arent txt’ing me at 5 am or 9 pm from work or saturdays or sundays or at jobsites their ppl have dropped the ball..
Guess my point, luck is if you make it…

I don't know how to define or quantify "lucky" for people here. I guess I'd say "the person whose location I'd most like to trade places with" and that's probably one of 3 people. Paul Walukewicz, Brother Dave, or Brother Bill. Sorry should have been clearer. luckiest at things like lotto's, drawing tags that type of luck In that case, I would have to say T_Inman. With the amount of game that cat puts on the ground every year, all over this and other countries, he must be extremely lucky on drawing tags. The best part is, he makes the most of every opportunity and mostly does it solo. Just having the time to do what he does would be a blessing. Ha! While I certainly appreciate the confidence I haven't killed a critter on anything but a general tag or hunt where I didn't require a tag in 4 years. Longer if you don't count unlimited or 100% draw odds tags. 2018 was the last time I killed something on an even somewhat hard to draw tag and I put in for a lot of them. I did get a my one and only NM tag in Feb 2020, a Barbary tag, but didn't fill it. I just am a loser with nothing else to do with my life other than hunt hard, and I like it that way.

Lucky, nope. At least in the context defined later by the OP. I never win anything. No Lotto, Beer joint pools, tip boards, 50/50’s, door prizes, Chinese Auctions, football squares, nothing. I’ve come to realize when I buy a chance I have no chance. I’m simply donating.
In other aspect of life though I don’t know if anyone ever could be luckier. Much like others who have detailed their “luck” in life earlier in this thread my perception of the question is the same. Family, friends, country, experiences, from where I started the outcome so far has been incredibly good.

Hell yeah... Ya make own luck fellas...
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Luck is absolutely nothing other that the collision of preparation... with opportunity.
