He wrote in his book about finding blood and black shreds of flesh one day after an attempted break in. But, some of his writing was alcohol induced fiction, so it may or may not have happened.

My understanding, the middle toe/digit on the foot of ratites is more like a very efficient knife. Had an emu loose here in the neighborhood last year. REALLY hoping it would make it to my place.
