please see attached pic i am having an issue decoding the year. I am thinkin 1977 rem 700 bdl 30/06 with a ported barrel what do you think it is worth . thanks in advance.

The two letters appear to be RG. R is November and G could be ‘86. Search for Remington date codes.

Should be “B” prefix sn if so.

That is the issue I have is making out the letters in the stamping.

I was thinking the ribbon style checkering was a little later, could be wrong though.

That's a first year, gen2 BDL made in 1969 and has all the updated features of the new generation, such as the long shroud, jeweled bolt, rounded safety level and ribboned checkering pattern. The date stamp of "RS" has a poorly struck "S" which would indicate a manufacturing date of November, 1969 which corresponds with the serial number.

The ported barrel, in my opinion, decreases the value somewhat. So yeh, maybe $600.
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally
