Anybody here have experience with the Freedom Arms 353 Casull (or the 83 .357)? Speaking specifically for good loads and bullets at well beyond .357 Magnum pressures and velocities with small rifle primers.
I’ve always been fascinated by this notion, one that John Taffin has written about with enthusiasm. Seems I have one coming my way and I am excited about it.

The original load from Winchester in 357 Magnum was a 158 grain at 1510 FPS

Congrats, nobody makes a more accurate revolver. Be sure to match bullet construction to the velocity you seek. I do prefer bullets .40 cal and up where cover is thick. Some Freedom Arms have cylinder throats that will just pass jacketed bullets but not lead bullets without resizing. My first 353 357 would not pass a .358” diameter lead bullet. Lee sizing dies can easily fix. I’ll add that my Freedom Arms seem to shoot most accurately when pushed hard. If you want to shoot groups similar to the included test targets, look no further than XTPs & H-110. Enjoy!
