Happy News when I get these SS notices. 2023 was a bit less COLA, same for 2024. Approximately 70 million Americans will see a 5.9% increase in their Social Security benefits and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments in 2022. Federal benefit rates increase when the cost-of-living rises, as measured by the Department of Labor’s Consumer Price Index (CPI-W).

Jus' asking. For the most part Boomers didn't do a very good job of raising their urchins[especially the latter stage of Boomers]. We made it pretty clear to ours that he was on his own upon exiting college. We also made him borrow 'some tuition dollars' just so that he would have some skin in the game. He's now a specialized welder working his azz off and making bank. OTOH- wife has two cousins that are more like sisters that 'raised'[term used lightly] one child each that are both 100% leaches on society as well as convicted felons. Parenting, you're either 100% in or you're destined to fail.

I seem to remember quite a bit of generational conflict when I was a kid in the sixties. and I dont.....maybe being oblivious is a good trait. honestly I never heard any of the bitterness like I hear on this forum. never blamed the generation before us for my problems ....just put my head down and worked, like everybody else I knew....bob Same here Bob. We were taught to respect our elders 'round here. If I'd have lipped off to my elders like these punks do these days my dad would have back handed me into the middle of next week. I'd have done the same for my kids. You don't complain about supporting your elders when they get old unless you're a spineless punk. They supported you when you were young, put food in your mouth from the day you were born, kept a roof over your head, sent you to school. It's your turn to support them when they get old.
