My first Remington that was 100% all mine is my Rem 870 Express. I bought brand new as combo which meant it came with a slug barrel as well as a bird barrel.

Without a doubt, the firearm that I killed my most game with. Just yesterday morning I killed a nice tom with it.

Nylon 66 silver apache.
My grandpa traded a bottle of wild turkey for it.
Gave it to me when I was like 8 or 10 or something. I can't believe it still shoots. I know I've shot that rifle 100,000 times. When I was a kid, early 90s, I could buy 100 remington thunderbolt 22 shells for 1.99. Killed everything with that gun. Still got it, in the back of the safe.

My first purchase was a Rem. 722 in 300 Sav. Traded it and some cash for a Win model 95. Still have the 95.

Then i bought a Rem model 1917. 06 of course. I reworked it thru the years and killed lots of stuff.

Gave it to my grandson last summer.

First Remington was a 700 CDL 30-06. Was a present for my 14th birthday along with a 3-9x40 leupold, leupold bases and rings and a thin leather sling with the Remington “R” logo on it. I believe I took 3 whitetail with it that first year. Still have it and it’s still set up exactly the same.

Mine was a .12ga 870 Wingmaster when I was 17. I wanted the vent rib barrel, but Dad said it would be too hard to keep clean and talked me out of it. I believe it cost me $145 brand new from Oshmans in Houston.

I been thinking about this and I'd though my first was a 700, but now I think I'm mistaken. Back about 1971 maybe 72, I was in the service and wanted a new gun. Only thing I found I could almost afford was a Rem 788 in 222 Rem. I got it and it turned out to be the most accurate rifle I'd ever owned. After it came a Rem 600 that I really didn't care for much but down the road got a Rem 660 in 308 and it was my primary hunting rifle for a lot of years after, somehow my son ended up with it!

My first Remington was a 700 BDL 308 Winchester, 3-9x Leupold “Gold Ring”, leather sling, suede leather case, two boxes of ammo, $475 for the whole mess in 1978.

That gun has had some upgrades over time. It will still put 8 rounds under a quarter ($.25) at 100 yards, original barrel. Now it wears a 20 oz composite and a teflon coated barreled action.

It is a great gun.

Remington 700 BDL 270
Purchased new. Shortly after placed in bell and Carlson stock.
Great rifle. Now, the rest of the Story!
I killed my first deer, 7 pt buck with rifle. My dad borrowed rifle and killed his first deer with it. My son at 13 yrs old killed his first deer with the rifle. My grandson Lucas was about 10 when he killed his first deer with the same 270! 4 generations!

This is the four generations in one pic. Dad on left, Lucas my grandson in his lap, my son Jeremy, and me on right. I need to print n laminate this Pic n tuck inside the stock. Lucas is 16 now. If he marries at 20 to 22, has youngin shortly thereafter, I'd need to live to be 80 to have a shot at seeing 5th generation knock one down!

Rick1977: I know you will make "80" for sure - probably 88 or 89!
Thanks for sharing that great photo.
Great idea "laminating" that photo and secreting it in the stock - never thought of that!
I have a pistol and a Rifle picked out to bequeath to each of all four of the VarmintChildren and to each of my two VarmintGrandChildren - maybe a favorite photo of all/each would go good with them?
Good for you all, and keep those birthdays comin.

1976 Model 1100 12 gauge. Have killed at least one of every game animal in Alabama with it. Usually either take it dove or quail hunting once a season now. Need to kill another turkey with it.
