I want to take my son and grandson on a quality turkey hunt in Texas. If you’ve used an outfitter there please share the good, bad, and ugly. This is for a hunt in 2025. Thanks for any response.

You normally get what you pay for. Cheaper isn’t always better.

Do your homework on the outfitter. Make sure they have plenty of land that holds turkeys, not just plenty of land. Just because a place had birds last year, doesn’t mean they will this year(or next). Go early in the season. Hunt the birds before they get pressured.

As far as specific outfitters, I’ll pm you some that I haven’t hunted with but have considered. I’ll also send you one I did hunt with once, that I wouldn’t.

And 1 that I have hunted with, and his contact.

Crockett county TX, is the best location I've hunted there The TX wildlife agency should be able to point you to a list of outfitters. Got be careful there are a lot of high fence operations in TX. ,.but I've found several ranches that outfitters have access to that's good.

Thanks men. Just a FYI, I’m not much of a turkey hunter however I want my son and grandson to have a good time and hopefully kill a bird or two. Since we either don’t call well or at all, we’ll need a guide. As for cost, it’s not a problem. I just want everyone to enjoy themselves. So, knowing this, I’d appreciate any tips leading me to the right outfitter. Thanks for the responses thus far, and hope to get a few more in the days ahead. Thanks again.
