Does anyone have a source for a couple hundred basic/Cylindrical 30-06 brass?
The only company I have found so far is Buffalo Brass, whom I have never heard of, and they are out of stock anyway.

What is basic cylindrical 30-06 brass? Are you referring to plain ol 06’ brass or something special.
I have a dump truck load of 06’ brass….

I have a dump truck load of 06’ brass…. Basic brass is unformed cylindrical brass. It is normally still head stamped, but I have seen it without a stamp. I have a 35 Whelen chamber that is measuring 2.527 in chamber neck length. All of my 35 Whelen head stamped R-P brass is actually shorter than the trim length of 2.484 (and has super thin neck walls). I was hoping to find some unformed -06 family brass I could form to add some neck length. I am trying to avoid a carbon ring build up in front of the cartridge neck.

I agree with your choice in brass, but I am looking for unformed/basic/cylindrical -06 family brass. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Try " Quality Brass". They may have what you`re looking for. I spoke with them this morning. They have been hit, like everyone else, by supply shortages. They make a 35 Whelen AI basic brass, but were out of stock and didn't anticipate having any until next year. I did order some 280ai basic brass to try out. They assured me that there was sufficient length to do what I needed. We will see when they get here.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Haave you checked on military brass? I have a thousand or so LC 06 brass. I'm making 35 Whelen brass and the problem comes from the necking up process. The 35 has a longer neck chamber than normal. So when I neck 06 brass up, the neck gets even shorter, normally well under the trim length of 2.484. My Whelen's neck chamber is 2.527.

Good for you...Good Luck.
I`d ordered some 8-06 head stamped brass from them some years back, thinking to take that rifle to Africa. Never did do that, but still use the stuff. Good brass.

I have a dump truck load of 06’ brass…. I don't think I'd classify it as a dump truck load but I do have several thousand 06' brass. Mostly once fired factory and mostly Remington from factory core lokt loadings. Bulk of it either given to me over a few yrs or picked up boxes dirt cheap at flea markets. I like Remington brass. If you anneal it I've had very good success with it over the years.
