I asked this question in a previous thread but mostly got answers about peoples favorite S&W K frame model. I bid on two GB auctions for S&W Model 14 models, both auctions ended at the same time and I won both, one is a -3 and the other a -4. Which one is the more desirable from a resale point of view? Of course I will take both to the range and test side by side, and if one has a decided edge in accuracy keep that one. Thoughts?

Very little difference in my opinion. Gas ring location and I believe the 14-4 was unpinned towards the end of that run. Not sure what serial number is the cut off. I've got a 14-3 6" that shoots very well.

For me it would come down to which one I liked better for whatever reasons. How it shoots, handles, feels, etc. If you can hang onto both of them for a while, I would guess a clear favorite will show itself in time.
