That was back when Hollywood actually had some men in it. There are some in that pic: Lee Marvin: USMC (1942-45; Purple Heart) James Stewart: The first major American movie star to enlist in the United States Army to fight in World War II. On July 23, 1959, Stewart was promoted to brigadier general, becoming the highest-ranking actor in American military history. He served for 27 years, officially retiring from the Air Force on May 31, 1968, when he reached the mandatory retirement age of 60. Ernest Borgnine: Joined the United States Navy in October 1935, after graduation from high school. He served aboard the destroyer/minesweeper USS Lamberton and was honorably discharged from the Navy in October 1941. In January 1942, he reenlisted in the Navy after the attack on Pearl Harbor. During World War II, he patrolled the Atlantic Coast on an antisubmarine warfare ship, the patrol yacht USS Sylph. In September 1945, he was once again honorably discharged from the Navy. Michael Caine: Between 1952 and 1954, served in the British Army's Royal Fusiliers, first at the British Army of the Rhine Headquarters in Iserlohn, West Germany, and then on active service in the Korean War. Rock Hudson: USN (1943-46). His later orientation is what it is, but he voluntarily enlisted after graduating from HS in 1943.

Clint Eastwood is a veteran as well. Served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. I consider Clint a real man for other reasons, but he was only a lifeguard in the Army in CA during the Korean War.

I didn't know who that was. He was, by far, the youngest of the group, but also the first to die. I spelled his name wrong it’s actually Laurence. Died four year later in 1973 at age 45.
