Anyone had the chance to play with one yet? Traded some side work for one. Never owned a judge thought it would make a great little “boat” gun. It’s stainless 3” chamber 3” barrel. Should be in by the end of the week he ordering it tomorrow!

I like Judge owners they made my beloved .45 Colt very popular. They are popular enough for S&W to make a copy called Governor.

I've never owned or shot one. Have no bias pro or con. When I read the OP I couldn't help but wonder if a safe way was available for handloaders to make 410 flares of if there was factory 410 flares?
When I was a boy, used to sometimes pop northern pike in the head with a bb gun once we had em' landed. I'd guess a 410 with #9 or #12 would be a bit much for such work.

Just figured it would make for a nice pistol to take with us on the boat when we are in the brush piles and fallen trees to tame the snakes that are always trying to get in the boat!

Cottonmouths are not a lot of fun in a boat. One of my favorite lakes is loaded with cottonmouths. At the cost of .410 ammo nowadays I could shoot myself into the poor house there.

45’s are ok. 410’s are a handful. I definitely like the 2 3/4 more than the 3’s. As you can imagine the pattern opens really fast. Like 7 yards away has a 7 foot pattern. If I loaded them I would use big bb’s and light on the powder. It is fun and useful. I have had mine for over 20 years. Bought it for rattlesnake hunting around graham, Texas. Too many pellets flying off the rocks went back to a 22 rifle for that purpose. Been kinda a range novelty since.

Having given a friend's Judge a workout a couple times, the only downside I see is that it comes with Taurus's quality - ok, but not as smooth working as a Colt or a Smith. Just a sampling of one though. That, and accuracy with the .45 ammo wasn't spectacular. Sufficient, but not wonderful.

I used this one for awhile to blast moles, snakes etc while mowing pasture. Worked OK and I had some fun with it before moving it on. With 410 shot it was the loudest SOB I've ever fired. https://www.thesixgunjournal.net/the-taurus-public-defender-45-colt410-snubnose-revolver/
