I'm pondering a 12 gauge home defense shot gun and found a store selling the benelli nova tactical ghost ring pumps for $299 on clearance. Apparantly they don't sell well compared to more traditional looking pumps.

Any operational issues that I should be aware?

Duty will be limited to security duty and range plinking.

I have a Super Nova Tactical with the ghost ring sight. They are good guns. It's the most accurate gun I have for shooting rifle slugs. It will hold a coverleaf group at 50 yards shooting Remington Sluggers. Mine has been utterley reliable. Mine came with a pistol grip stock, but I switched it out for a more traditional comfort tech stock, then added a 2 shot Nordic extension to the magazine. The stock on the Nova is what it is, since its integral with the receiver, but its still a comfortable stock.

Oner last thing. If you aren't familiar with shooting rotating bolt pump shotguns, be aware that the action will partially open when you fire.

So its like the winchester "speed pump" I assume.

The nova I am looking at is a full molded stock.

Yes, very much like the Winchester speed pumps. $299 is an excellent price for the Nova.

I think they sell for $450 normally so I think I can buy it and not loose too much money if I don't care for it.
