Anyone ever try these Durston Light Weight Tents and Bags? LinkExtra Large 2-Person light-weight tent... Ground Sheet, Iner Tent with Bathtub Floor, Outer Tent, Stakes, and Poles... 53 ounces or 3.3 pounds. And that isn't even their lightest tents, they have two other 2-person-tents that are lighter. And there 1-person tents that are under 1 pound. Their lightweight Backpacks looks good too. Their online store is at Kaviso.com: Link: Durston ProductsAnd their 64L Backpack at a weight of 33 ounces: LinkPhil

Durston's tent designs are excellent. I'm not a trekking pole guy so there's a weight penalty there - he's got DCF models, so those give more weight savngs. Between Tarptent and Durston, (and others) there's a lot of great choices. His Packs look fine, but I prefer packs with adjustable stays that can be custom fit to my back, and I've gone back to full wrap-around hipbelts. My go-to anymore is a Superior Wilderness Designs Wolverine (formerly the Wendigo). For backpacking, it's the best internal frame I've used since the 1980's. With a pack, comfort is more important than weight, and at 44 oz's the SWD is worth a tiny weight penalty, and of course at 70L it's a lot bigger than the Durston 40L. My wife prefers a Seek Outside Unaweep 4800.

Actually, it's the Durston 55, the larger 64L pack that weighs in at just 31.2 ounces. Not the Durston 40L...
