OP was pretty certain it was nine twist. Thanks! Very nice rifle. I've been fortunate enough to purchase from gene270 multiple times, from bino's to a pocket knife to a rifle. He's been great to work with every time.

My idea of a carry-all-day hunting mountain rifle! Magazine length?

I retired from the Johns Manville asbestos pop tart factory in ‘59, and still never made the connection.—-Slumlord

Very interesting rifle! I told a friend who is considering it. Seeing I have a 284 in a 7 1/4 lb Ruger M77 SA all set to go, I don't have the need but keep telling him he should own this rifle.
Speaking of 284 loads. Bob Hutton originally used the 140 partition with 57 or 58 gr of IMR4350. These days H4350 is a better choice because it fits better and is temperature stable. Having had 284s since the late 70s, I evolved to using RL-17 for a 168 Berger VLD load and a 120 Nosler Bt load. If someone wants to know my data they can PM me.
