I just picked up a couple lbs. of Staball6.5. Has anyone tried this for .280 Remington, especially in the 139/140 grain bullet class? I would love to hear how it worked.

Me too! I got lucky and scored a couple of pounds, also. Doing some interpolation of data I've been able to find without too much digging, it looks like a starting load with a 140 gr bullet might be around 50.0 gr for about 2800 fps. CAREFULLY working up, max load might be around 55.0 gr for a little over 3000 fps. I make NO claims for the safety of this load data. This is nothing more than my speculation and interpolation and I have NOT tested this load data. Anyone that uses this data does so at their own risk.

Thank you Skeezix! I appreciate your response! I'll let you know how my load development goes. I just loaded 54.7 grains in my .270 Win. with a 140 grain Hornady BTSP. Shot five of these and got 2962, 2967, 3048, 3005, and 3020 FPS, ES was 86, SD was 32. Not the greatest ES and SD, but the group was pretty good, just over an inch at 100 yds. I suspect the .280 Rem will likely do about the same. I will take your advice and start around 50 grains and work up carefully.

My 280 shoots pretty good with Ramshot Hunter and 140’s. Hunter is a bit slower but Staball 6.5 is close. I bet it would work well in the 280 depending on if your particular rifle likes it.
