You convert that to 7x57R, and it'd be just too damned classy....

VA,
The brown truck later this week will deliver my custom #1B in 9.3x62. There's a spot reseved for it in the safe rack alongside .338-06, .338 Federal, and .300 H&H project guns.
Have not seen it yet but have high hopes for the custom Tiger maple stock. I had it patterned after European style stocks from the Ruger #1 book --- cheek piece with shadow line and a slimmer forearem. It also has a barrel band, more like the S than the original B #1.

How hard would it be to make a switch-barrel Ruger Number One?

1B You need to post some pictures of it when you get it. It sounds like a very pretty gun.

I would like a;
1 AH in 280 Rem., 260 and/or 257 Roberts
Gotta love that 24" barrel on the AH.

How hard would it be to make a switch-barrel Ruger Number One? Corresponded with a guy from the northeast on Accurate Reloading who has a gunsmith that does them......can't recall name/handle Or you could get the NEW #1, a TC Encore! ha. Do not have myself, but thought about them.....many times.

They lack the classic style and class of the #1's.

The .300 H&H, the 45-120 sharps and the .264 Winchester Magnum come to mind!

Add my vote for .30-40 Krag.
Others ... hmmm ... .35 WCF? Factory .470 NE? .22 BR and .22 PPC, since the #1 doesn't have to feed anyway. .25-20 WCF. 7-30 Waters? .375 JDJ? A #1V in 7mm STW? .17 Remington!!
Anyone who thinks there's two sides to everything hasn't met a Mbius strip.
Here be dragons ...
